CHATTAG GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Support gifted students and teachers in Hamilton County.

resources to enhance gifted programs.

teacher training in the areas of gifted education.

to identify and secure adequate funding for Gifted students.

 | Work
to restore funding for Tennessee Governor's Schools.
|
 | Engage
in supportive dialogue with public, private, and home education
organizations that have a vested interest in gifted children.

 | Sponsor
activities that enhance gifted programs county-wide.

Educate and Involve Parents.
 | Identify
techniques and activities in working with gifted children and encourage
teachers to incorporate gifted training techniques into all classrooms.

 | Teach
parents how to advocate for their children.
|
 | Promote
awareness of legislative issues impacting upon the education of gifted
children.
|
 | Act
as a conduit between schools, school systems, and parents on gifted program
issues.
|
Share information about Gifted Programs with the Public.
 | Increase
the public's awareness of the needs of gifted children.

 | Create
and use a CHATTAG web site.
|
 | Sponsor
gifted student programs at each membership meeting that showcase the talents
and abilities of gifted students.

 | Act
as a clearinghouse for gifted program information in Hamilton County.
|
 | Seek
public venues that will display the talents and abilities of gifted
students.
|
Support the Tennessee Association of Gifted's goals and objectives.
Support
the goals and objectives of organizations such as T.I.G.E.R., NAGC, and others
that sustain gifted programs.
|
